EcoAdventure '11 Home

TCNJ EARTH DAY is April 20th, 2011

Here's a brief mission statement regarding the planned 4/20 Earth Day events:

As part of a community engagement and activism project for our Ecofeminism class, my classmates and I are holding a day-long even on April 20th (two days before national Earth Day) with two main goals: the first being to raise funds which will be used to make improvements on the Community Garden and to also supplement operating budget for this growing season (soil, fertilizer, seeds, equipment, etc); the second goal is to promote student Eco-awareness and involvement with the garden as a more active part of campus life.

This project is a part of a collaborative effort on the part of our classmates and the Bonner Center, via Paula Figueroa and other students working more closely with her. The Bonners will be digging into the garden for the first time on the 20th as well, so aside from the plans we have made for our events, we are going to urge students to get involved with the gardening process, hopefully we will have a sunny day for this!

We are currently in the works of coordinating with other campus groups, we have a confirmation of involvement with WTSR for an event planned for the Cromwell Main Lounge. We are also planning on having a table with information in the Student Center and a Eco film festival (location TBD).
